Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm (2007)
Video for the single 'Brianstorm'. First single to be released from forthcoming album Favourite Worst Nightmare, out April 2007. www.arcticmonkeys.com www.dominorecordco.com Domino Records Providing ear comfort since 1993... Domino Recording Company, an independent record label since 1993, is home to artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Animal Collective, Franz Ferdinand, The Kills, Anna Calvi, Four Tet, Real Estate, Dirty Projectors, Wild Beasts, Francois & The Atlas Mountains, Clinic, About Group, Robert Wyatt, Owen Pallett, Cass McCombs, Villagers, Blood Orange, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Eugene McGuinness, Sons & Daughters, Stephen Malkmus, King Creosote, Twin Sister, The Count & Sinden, The Last Shadow Puppets, Max Tundra and more. Approaching 20 years since its inception, Domino Recording Company is now established as one of the UK's leading independents. Launched by Laurence Bell on the back of a £40 a week enterprise allowance scheme and sticking throughout to a commendable set of principles, Domino has long championed and nurtured the outsider whilst enjoying both critical and commercial success. Fifteen years since its inception Domino Recording Company is now established as one of the UK's leading independents. Launched by Laurence Bell on the back of a £40 a week enterprise allowance scheme and sticking throughout to a commendable set of principles, Domino has long championed and nurtured the outsider whilst enjoying both critical and commercial success. From the off the label became a home for the most idiosyncratic of artists, led by Sebadoh and keenly followed by Royal Trux and Palace Music. In Domino these artists recognised a label that could understand and work with their vision. Despite racking up classic album after classic album by Palace, Smog, Elliot Smith and Pavement however, Domino remained firmly entrenched in the American music scene. But with British music enjoying a creative resurgence in the late '90's. Domino was set to enter a new phase. ''That was what we always hoped would happen'' says Bell, ''it just took longer than we thought and maybe for while we got stuck in our own bubble. But around 1997-98, we began to realise that the sort of bands we wanted to sign did exist in Britain and the fact that they liked the records we'd put out might encourage them to throw in their lot with us''. And so they did with UK artists The Kills, Clinic, Four Tet, singer songwriter James Yorkston and Archie Bronson Outfit joining the Domino stable and releasing seminal and critically acclaimed records. But it was in 2003 that the label hit pay dirt with Franz Ferdinand - the standard bearers of a new art-rock movement - and Domino found themselves thrust into the spotlight. 'Take Me Out', Franz Ferdinand's second single, captured the mood of a nation and became a worldwide hit for the label. In 2007 the Arctic Monkeys effortlessly followed up their debut with 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' a record bristling with confidence and swaggering intelligence. The year drew to a close with the band sharing space at the top of the end of year polls with Robert Wyatt, one of the label's latest signing. Wyatt's 'Comicopera' was a tour de force of his singular vision and effortlessly gave notice of how Domino is now placed to connect music of all generations with its rightful audience hungry for the real thing. The future of Domino is always balanced between allowing existing artists freedom of expression and discovery of the new. Lightspeed Champion, Yo Majesty! and The Count & Sinden are all recent additions to the label's release schedule ensuring it remains innovative, idiosyncratic and as distinctively Domino as ever. Well don't you always do the same It's what ya there for, don't ya know The lights are flashing Down in here tonight And so'm I exchange a glance But keep pretending to dance Don't act like it's not happening As if its impolite To go and mention your name Instead you'll just do the same As they all do, and hope for the best The only reason that you came So what ya scared for? Well don't ya always do the same It's what ya there for, but no!! Get on your dancing shoes You sexy little swine Oh, been there looking for you Sure you'll be rumagin' through And a said the shit, shock, horror You've seen your future bride Oh, but it's oh so absurd For you to say the first word So you're waitin'n'waitin...!

10 - Snap Out Of It - Arctic Monkeys
Banda: Arctic Monkeys Álbum: AM Track N°: 10 © 2013. Domino Records. (UK) Ltd. Letra: What's been happening in your world? What have you been up to? I heard that you feel in love, or near enough I gotta tell you the truth I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake, baby Snap out of it I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby Snap out of it If that watch don't continue to swing Or the fat lady fancies having a sing I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to Snap out of it Forever isn't for everyone Is forever for you? It sounds like settling down or giving up But it don't sound much like you, girl I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake, baby Snap out of it I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby Snap out of it If that watch don't continue to swing Or the fat lady fancies having a sing I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to Snap out of it Under a spell you're hypnotized Darling how could you be so blind? Under a spell you're hypnotized Darling how could you be so blind? I wanna grab both your shoulders and shake, baby Snap out of it I get the feeling I left it too late, but baby Snap out of it If that watch don't continue to swing Or the fat lady fancies having a sing I'll be here waiting ever so patiently for you to Snap Out Of It Comprar Álbum "AM": https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/am/id663097964 Página oficial de la banda: http://arcticmonkeys.com/

Arctic Monkeys - Old Yellow Bricks
Arctic Monkeys - Old Yellow Bricks ( Favourite Worst Nightmare, 2007 ) Lyrics: Old yellow bricks, Love's a risk, Quite the little Escapoligist Looked so miffed, When you wished, For a thousand places better than this, You are the fugitive, But you dont know what you're runnin from, You cant kid us, And you couldnt trick anyone, Houdini, love you dont know what you're runnin away from, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? Blinded by nostalgia, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? She was enraged by the way, That the emperor put traps in the cage, And the days she being dull, Lead to nights readin beer bottles, You're such a fugitive, But you dont know what you're runnin from, You cant kid us, And you couldnt trick anyone, Houdini, love you dont know what you're runnin away from, Who wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up? Blinded by nostalgia, Who wants to sleep in a city that never wakes up? You're at a loss, Just because, It wasnt all that you thought it was, You are a fugitive but you dont know what you're runnin away from, She said I want to sleep in the city that never wakes up, And revel in nostalgia, I know I said he wants to sleep in the city that never wakes up but, Dorothy was right though

Arctic Monkeys Pretty Visitors Humbug
Arctic Monkeys Pretty Visitors Humbug Trudging through the morning, and The tramp with the trampoline under his arm, Shifts past your whiskers, So stark is the charm but the barking alarm, Waits coiled until the corner is turned. And the bicycle wheels all struggle to move round, In your muddy mind Blatantly caked and unwilling to wind, Uncooperative time So he sits on the springs until the muck goes dry All the pretty visitors came and waved their arms and cast the shadow of a snake pit on the wall, All the pretty visitors came and waved their arms and cast the shadow of a snake pit on the wall What came first the chicken or the dickhead? Split sleep reaps rewards from ill fitting thoughts, And twilight forced, you to go on awalk, Your legs start running and your head get's caught, Canopy 19, is perfectly placed for the reasonably frightening, Fall from the aftertaste, you'll have to slip away, I'm unhappy to say, Behold there's a crook in the hammock plays Cruelly with the base of the scales, And fiddles with the feet on a balancing act, Gagged, bound and crafting a tale, Trailing wrapped in a gasp, Cruelly with the base of the scales, And fucking fiddles with the feet on a balancing act, Gagged, bound and crafting a tale, Trailing wrapped in a gasp. All the pretty visitors came and waved their arms and cast the shadow of a snake pit on the wall, All the pretty visitors came and waved their arms and cast the shadow of a snake pit on the wall... Arctic Monkeys - 505 - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Arctic Monkeys - 505 - Favourite Worst Nightmares Lyrics: I'm going back to 505, If its a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive, In my imagination you're waiting lying on your side, With your hands between your thighs, Stop and wait a sec, Oh when you look at me like that my darling, What did you expect, I probably still adore you with you hand around my neck, Or I did last time I checked, Not shy of a spark, A knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark, Frightened by the bite though its no harsher than the bark, Middle of adventure, such a perfect place to start, I'm going back to 505, If its a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive, In my imagination you're waiting lying on your side, With your hands between your thighs, But I crumble completely when you cry, It seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye, Im always just about to go and spoil a suprise, Take my hands off of your eyes too soon, I'm going back to 505, If its a 7 hour flight or a 45 minute drive, In my imagination you're waiting lying on your side, With your hands between your thighs and a smile!

Arctic Monkeys - Fake Tales Of San Francisco
Arctic Monkeys - Fake Tales Of San Francisco( Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, 2006 ) Fake tales of san francisco Echo through the room More point to a wedding disco Without a bride or groom There's a super cool band yeah With their trilbys and their glasses of white wine And all the weekend rockstars in the toilets Practicing their lines I don't want to hear you (Kick me out, kick me out) I don't want to hear, you know (Kick me out, kick me out) I don't want to hear you (Kick me out, kick me out) I don't want to hear you I don't want to hear your Fake tales of san francisco Echo through the air And there's a few bored faces in the back All wishing they weren't there And as the microphone squeaks A young girl's telephone beeps Yeah she's dashing for the exit And she's running to the streets outside "Oh you've saved me," she screams down the line "The band were fucking wank And I'm not having a nice time." I don't want to hear you (Kick me out, kick me out) I don't want to hear, you know (Kick me out, kick me out) Yeah but his bird thinks it's amazing, though So all that's left Is the proof that love's not only blind but deaf He talks of san francisco, he's from hunter's bar I don't quite know the distance But I'm sure that's far Yeah I'm sure it's pretty far And yeah, I'd love to tell you all of my problem You're not from new york city, you're from rotherham So get off the bandwagon, and put down the handbook Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook Get off the bandwagon and put down the handbook Yeah

Arctic Monkeys - Do Me A Favour
Favourite Worst Nightmare Studio album by Arctic Monkeys Released 18 April 2007 Recorded December 2006 at Miloco Studios London, England Genre Post-punk revival Length 37:34 Label Domino, Warner Bros. Producer James Ford Mike Crossey Favourite Worst Nightmare is the second studio album by Sheffield indie rock band Arctic Monkeys that was first released in Japan on 18 April 2007[1] before being released around the world. Recorded in East London's Miloco Studios with producers James Ford and Mike Crossey, the album was preceded by the release of new single "Brianstorm" on 16 April 2007.[2] In its first week following release the album sold over 220,000 copies, emulating Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not in going straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart, albeit selling 100,000 copies fewer than their record-breaking debut. Favourite Worst Nightmare's first day sales of 85,000 outsold the rest of the Top 20 combined, while all twelve tracks from the album entered the top 200 of the UK Singles Chart in their own right.[3] In the USA, the album debuted at number seven, selling around 44,000 copies in its first week.[4] The album has since gone 2x platinum[5]in the UK and the album was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize. At the 2008 BRIT Awards it won Best British Album Lyrics: Well the morning was complete. There was tears on the steering wheel dripping on the seat, Several hours or several weeks, I'd have the cheek to say they're equally as bleak! It's the beginning of the end, the car went up the hill, And disappeared around the bend, ask anyone they'll tell you that. It's these times that it tends, The start to breaking up, to start to fall apart Oh! hold on to your heart. Do me a favour, break my nose! Do me a favour, tell me to go away! Do me a favour, stop asking questions! She walked away, well her shoes were untied, And the eyes were all red, You could see that we've cried, and I watched and I waited, 'Till she was inside, forcing a smile and waving goodbye. Curiousity becomes a heavy load, Too heavy to hold, too heavy to hold. Curiousity becomes a heavy load, Too heavy to hold, will force you to be cold. And do me a favour, and ask if you need some help! She said, do me a favour and stop flattering yourself! How to tear apart the ties that bind, perhaps fuck off, might be too kind, Perhaps fuck off, might be too kind.

Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum
Yet another excellent Arctic Monkeys song, to be honest one of my favourites along with "When The Sun Goes Down." A great story of a quarrelsome pair, whose love and peace is disturbed by the female's quarrelsomeness & disappointment in her eyes. Enjoy - and check my other Arctic Monkeys videos! I thought as much Cause you turned over there Pulling that silent disappointment face The one that I can't bear Why can't we just laugh and joke around...? Remember cuddles in the kitchen yeah To get things off the ground And it was, up up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember that On a day like today When you're all argumentative And you've got the face on Yeah, I'm sorry I was late But I missed the train And then the traffic was a state And I can't be arsed to carry on in this debate That reoccurs, oh when you say I don't care But of course I do, I clearly I do! Just laugh and joke around Remember cuddles in the kitchen yeah To get things off the ground And it was, up up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember that On a day like today When you're all argumentative And you've got the face on

Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down
Arctic Monkeys -( Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, 2006 ) Lyrics: So who's that girl there? I wonder what went wrong So that she had to roam the streets She don't do major credit cards I doubt she does receipts It's all not quite legitimate And what a scummy man Just give him half a chance I bet he'll rob you if he can Can see it in his eyes, yeah That he's got a driving ban Amongst some other offences And I've seen him with girls of the night He told Roxanne to put on her red light They're all infected but he'll be alright Cause he's a scumbag, don't you know I said he's a scumbag, don't you know! Although you're trying not to listen Avert your eyes and staring at the ground She makes a subtle proposition I'm sorry love I'll have to turn you down And oh he must be up to something Want half a chance to show he's more than likely I've got a feeling in my stomach I start to wonder what his story might be What his story might be They said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here Around And look here comes a Ford Mondeo Isn't he Mister Inconspicuous And he don't even have to say 'owt She's in the stance ready to get picked up And she's delighted when she sees him Pulling in and giving her the eye Because she must be fucking freezing Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky She don't stop in the winter no and... They said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here BECAUSE HES ALWAY ROUND HERE SHAGGIN UR MUM DINT UR NO They said it changes when the sun goes down And they said it changes when the sun goes down Over the river going out of town And they said it changes when the sun goes down Around here And what a scummy man Just give him half a chance I bet he'll rob you if he can Can see it in his eyes that he's got a nasty plan I hope you're not involved at all
